VISION

Our vision is to educate and inspire all our learners in a safe, nurturing environment so that they may become life-long learners and positive members in our society.

MISSION

Redwood Academy is committed to helping learners achieve the highest academic standards within the bounds of their abilities and chosen educational goals.

Our smaller classes, individual attention and after school remediation ensures that adequate attention is given to all learners.

We believe that blending technology into the classroom environment will benefit learners in their future endeavours.

Our learners are taught to embrace diversity and function well as part of a group.

We focus on teaching learners to show responsibility, good character and respect so that they can make a positive contribution to our country.

KEY CHARACTERISTICS OF A REDWOOD LEARNER

Our learners are confident yet respectful individuals and apply the skills and principles learnt at school in their everyday lives.

The small classes and individualised learning provided at all our campuses enables the development of valuable educator-learner relationships. This is the key to successful learning.

Our Code of Conduct, together with a demerit system, ensures that our students are disciplined and responsible and understand that there are consequences for their actions.

Each learner is a valuable member of our Redwood family.

LEARNING TO LOVE SCHOOL AT REDWOOD

Each of our campuses offer dynamic and multi-cultural environments. We foster a love for learning, where respect, tolerance, leadership and comradery are cultivated within a warm and nurturing environment.

TECHNOLOGY IN TODAY’S LEARNING ENVIRONMENT

Technology is a focal point at our schools:  we use electronic smart boards and learners are required to bring a tablet to school to do coding and for the use of e-textbooks.

The coding curriculum learners use is on the code.org platform. This prepares learners in the use of languages  such as Python, Java and Delphi.  Minecraft coding is an exciting addition to our program where we use the love for the game to encourage coding amongst our learners.

Classrooms are equipped with a laptop and digital projector. These enable our lessons to include valuable online learning resources.  WiFi access is provided to educators and learners for educational purposes only.

BETTER THAN A THOUSAND DAYS OF DILIGENT STUDY IS ONE DAY WITH A GREAT TEACHER

Our educators are key members of the Redwood family and we believe in empowering them to reach new heights with innovation and experience. Each educator is selected by members of the school board based on their qualifications and  experience. Redwood educators are  selected specialists who have passion for their subject and a reputation for excellence.
